Reflections at Adder rock

Sometimes the shots come when you least expect them. On this morning I had gone out early to catch the sunrise in hopes of some morning colours. Unfortunately they didn’t quite eventuate how I had liked, but it’s still good to get out early, before the sun rises.

mirror reflectionThis shot was taken at Adder Rock on Stradbroke Island. The tide was low and a large flat area of sand was holding water from the occasional high wave. The sheltered location made for a glassy reflection of the puffy clouds above. I found a suitable location with the lone tree in my composition and waited till the right wave flooded the sandy flats. The image above was the result.
