Found this cool old 1958 MG Magnette on Stradbroke Island, Queensland, Australia. This lovely old lady drove it around for her coffee with friends. For a 1958 vehicle it sure was in excellent condition. All wood dash and rope door handles among other details you just don’t see in cars these days.
Tech notes
Shot with the Nikon D700 and the 50mm F1.4 lens. Typically when shooting with this lens I try to stay around F2.2 as my widest aperture. Having tested it loosely wider open wasn’t terribly impressed with the results. When the chance to shoot the MG Magnette came up I figured this was the type of shot that could benefit from a really shallow dof to help keep the focus on the subject. The front on shot was taken at F1.6, ISO100 with a shutter speed of 1/8000 second (the fastest speed possible on the D700).
Enjoy
