Found this mating pair of grasshopper, while out in the garden. Sometimes when I go out on a bit of a macro shoot, I like to just find a spot where the lighting is nice and there is a chance of finding some gritters.. Then I just set up, sometimes on the ground and just pay attention to my surroundings.

It doesn’t take too long before you realise how many macro subjects there actually is. Normally right under your nose, but never noticed as I never stopped long enough to pay attention. I try to carry across this mentality to other types/styles of shooting.

This pair stayed around while I positioned myself for the best vantage point.
