backlit fishing silhouette

I was reading a good mate Rob Mckay’s post gone fishing over at bokehenstein and it reminded me of this shot I had taken a while back.

Took this shot of 3 gentlemen fishing down on Stradbroke Island, at Amity point. The strong backlighting made a perfect opportunity to shoot these guys as a silhouette. Quite often I find the silhouette can be very powerful and tell a compelling story. In this case the guys body language and poses were very symbolic to fishing.
